Firm Foundations is an Islamic studies programme developed to meet the needs of teenagers growing up in a complex and fast-changing world. The course focuses on building a strong and balanced understanding of Islam, helping students develop certainty in their beliefs and confidence in practising their faith.
The curriculum introduces students to the core foundations of Islam, including beliefs, worship, ethics and personal responsibility. Alongside traditional learning, the course provides a supportive space in which students can explore real-life questions and challenges faced by young Muslims, encouraging thoughtful reflection, open discussion and informed understanding.
Firm Foundations places a strong emphasis on character development, critical thinking and applying Islamic principles in everyday life. Through guided discussion and structured learning, students are supported in developing a mature and grounded Islamic identity rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Learning will extend beyond the classroom through fun and educational trips held throughout the year. Teenagers will also take part in engaging activities and enjoyable sessions designed to help them build friendships, develop confidence and create positive memories in a welcoming Islamic environment.
The programme aims to nurture confident young Muslims who are able to uphold their faith with clarity, integrity and strength—laying firm foundations for lifelong learning, meaningful friendships and spiritual growth.
