Course Description

The Duff & Poetry Course (Ages 6+) is a carefully designed programme that introduces children to the beauty of traditional Islamic arts through nasheeds, poetry, and rhythmic expression. The course seeks to instil a deep appreciation for Qasaaid, remembrance, and praise of the Prophet ﷺ, while nurturing creativity and confidence.

Children begin by developing their listening skills, exploring nasheeds from different cultures around the world. Through this process, they learn to appreciate melody, emotion, and meaning, while gradually becoming familiar with basic tunes and rhythms.

As the course progresses, children are encouraged to use their voices to express love and praise for the Prophet ﷺ in a fun and uplifting setting. Selected sessions also focus on the art of writing poetry, guiding children to articulate their emotions and thoughts through words inspired by the Prophet ﷺ, his companions, and the righteous predecessors.

The programme aims to nurture confident young Muslims who connect positively with their heritage and faith through creative expression. By the permission of Allah, children who demonstrate strong interest and notable progress may be selected to join Luton’s formal Nasheed group, where they will receive further guidance and support to develop their talents and confidence.
